YARN X & O

This ended up being lovely. I love yarn and especially if its on an X and an O together. I will say the O takes an hour or so, but the X takes a few nights of wrapping and glueing as you’re watching your husband play call of duty. Well, that was me anyway. And it turned out awesome on my mantle with my pages heart garland. I’m loving this crafting thing.
On another note, I’m SOOOOO excited! My sister-in-law Em Dickson (and brother Mike of course) is having her baby today! She was just induced an hour ago and I can’t wait to see that sweet little thing. Good luck to them. Give her some good luck or congrats over on her blog if you like!

Supplies:
X and an O, mine were $3 or $4 each
Yarn
Hot glue gun with a few extra sticks
or
Tacky glue

DIY MINI FRAMED CORK BOARDS

I love these cute cork boards, perfect for an entry way where you constantly need to be reminded. It is such a pretty way to display what you need to remember or love to remember. They can be so light too that you can hang them with one little nail, tack or even some adhesive putty (which is what I did!). These can also double as a pretty gifts too! Now I have to make some in a few bright “robot” colors for Beck’s room.  You can also hot glue some magnets to the back and stick it onto your fridge or you metal front door. I seriously am obsessed.

.

Supplies:
-frames (thrifted for a dollar a piece…try to find a sturdy quality frame made from solid wood, the plastic ones are a headache)
-sandpaper
-At least 5/32 thick cork board (I recommend buying in a flat state NOT in a roll) – i fyou buy rolled then you will need tape or a hot glue gun
-exacto knife + memory pad or scissors

DIY Bar Tray

It’s been over two years since I’ve been promising myself a bar cart for my living room. As of last week, I had made no progress on this undertaking but I’m happy to say that I’ve found an even better solution. Do it yourself, of course! Head on over to HonestlyYUM where I’ll show you how to make your own bar tray. Or bar cart sans wheels . . .

DIY Pearl Choker & Rings

Karl Lagerfeld turned up the ol’ pearl game about 100 notches with ginormous pearl necklaces, bracelets and rings for Chanel‘s spring collection. Costumey, over-the-top and DIYable . . . I was sold. Next came the painstakingly long search for the largest pearls I could find and in my hunt for pearls, came the inspiration to make rings inspired by Russian designer Maria Stern‘s super chic double pearl rings. It’s a pearl party and everyone is invited!

You’ll need (for the pearl choker):
2 30mm pearl beads
12 gauge gold wire choker
2 ball end headpins
2 bead caps
E6000
a toothpick
heavy duty wire cutters
You’ll need (for the pearl rings):
10mm & 12mm half drilled Swarovski pearls
8mm & 6mm half drilled Swarovski pearls
ultra thin gold rings
super glue
wire cutters

DIY Vintage Statement Necklace

I’m addicted to collecting vintage rhinestone necklaces. Not only can they be inexpensive, they are great pieces to DIY with since most of the time, they are much too small to fit comfortably around the neck. And thanks to the jewelry trailblazers behind Lulu Frost, Dylanlex and Dannijo, I was inspired to rework some sparklers that were just not sufficient enough to wear on their own. It’s a straightforward project, as long as you have the right tools and tips . . . which of course, I’ll share with you. Follow along!

You’ll need:
vintage rhinestone necklaces
18″ – 24″ of assorted silver plated chain (I used this and this)
6mm jump rings
large jump rings
a lobster clasp
wire cutters
pliers

DIY Simple Heart

For the most part I tend to overthink things.  I also tend to make things that are best suited to be simple waaaaaay overcomplicated.  Take these little heart earrings for example.  Today I got this great (not so great) idea to dip the hearts in gold paint.  Long story short I hated them.  They looked all goopy (it's a real word according to Urban Dictionary) and I got gold paint freaking everywhere.  I loved them plain and simple so that's how I ended up leaving them.

This is literally the easiest polymer clay project ever and if you are in need of a little last minute love in your ears for Valentine's Day then this is the project for you.  I just proofread this little sentence to my husband and he said it sounded really creepy and I probably should not say that.  I decided to leave it anyway :)

Sunburst Mirror

Simple, easy and effective. If you have an old mirror that I no longer like the look, do you like her look beautiful in a very easy way. Try makin a nice thing for you with little or no money if you have in house things that you need. If you have all that you need not hesitate and put you to work.
